Accessibility statement
RecomBuilder is built to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. Because WCAG 2.2 includes every requirement of earlier versions, this also meets WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the benchmark used for websites under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and WCAG 2.0 Level AA, the standard required for websites under Ontario's Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and its Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation.

What we did
- The whole page is plain, server-rendered HTML with landmarks, one main heading, and a logical heading order.
- Every form field has a visible label. Required fields say "(required)" in text. Errors are listed at the top of the form with links to each field.
- Everything works with a keyboard, and focus is always visible.
- There is no CAPTCHA. A silent proof-of-work check runs in the background and needs no sight, hearing, or fine motor control.
- Text meets contrast requirements in light and dark mode. The page reflows at 400% zoom and 320 px width.
- Animations respect your reduced-motion setting, and nothing flashes.
- Your letter is available on screen, by email, and as Markdown, Word, and PDF files with real, selectable text.
- The site is available in 25 languages. Each page declares its language and text direction, and Arabic and Persian pages read right to left.
How it was tested
We checked the page with automated accessibility testing (axe-core), keyboard-only use, and the NVDA and VoiceOver screen readers in current versions of Chrome, Firefox, and Safari, and at 200% and 400% zoom. Last audit: November 6, 2026.
Known limitations
- The card payment form for premium drafts is provided by Stripe inside its own frame, so its accessibility depends on Stripe. If it gets in your way, email us and we will help you get a premium draft another way.
- Downloaded PDF files contain real, selectable text with a title and language, but they are not fully tagged PDFs. The Word file is the most accessible download.
