# Terms of use RecomBuilder is operated by DigitVibe Corporation ("DigitVibe", "we", "us"), a federal Canadian corporation based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. You can reach us at [info@digitvibe.com](mailto:info@digitvibe.com). By using RecomBuilder, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it. ## Who can use RecomBuilder You must be at least 13 years old to use RecomBuilder. If you are under the age of majority where you live, ask a parent or guardian before you buy a premium draft. ## What RecomBuilder does RecomBuilder uses AI models to write a first draft of a recommendation letter from the details you provide. The letter is written by AI, not by a person, and it is a draft for your recommender to edit. The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that it will always be available, error-free, or suitable for your purpose, or that any letter will help you get a position, program, or scholarship. ## You are responsible for the letter AI models can make mistakes and can produce similar wording for different people. You and your recommender are responsible for checking every statement, correcting anything that is not accurate, and deciding whether to use the letter. Do not submit a letter in someone else's name without their review and approval. We are not responsible for decisions made by anyone who reads a letter. ## Your information Only enter information you have the right to share. Do not include other people's personal information unless it is needed for the letter and you are allowed to share it. RecomBuilder has no database and does not store what you type: it is sent to the AI model through OpenRouter with zero data retention, emailed to you, and then discarded. Our [privacy policy](https://recombuilder.com/privacy) explains this in full. ## Acceptable use Do not use RecomBuilder to create false or misleading letters, to impersonate anyone, to break any law, to send unwanted email, or to overload, probe, or attack the service. We may block or limit anyone's use at any time to protect the service or other people. ## Premium drafts and payments - **Price.** A premium draft costs the price shown next to the model you choose, in US dollars, including any applicable Canadian GST/HST. No tax is added at checkout. Your bank may add currency conversion fees. The total shown when you pay is the amount you pay. - **Payment.** Stripe processes the payment. Your card is only authorized until your letter is ready. If the letter cannot be written, the authorization is cancelled and you are not charged. - **Delivery right away.** A premium draft is written and delivered within minutes. Before you pay, you ask us to start right away and confirm that you understand that you lose your right to cancel once the letter is delivered. This includes the 14-day right of withdrawal that consumers have in the European Union, the United Kingdom, and some other places. We confirm this in the email that delivers your letter. - **Refunds.** Once your letter has been delivered, the payment is final. If you were charged but did not receive your letter, or you were charged twice, email us and we will deliver it or refund you. This does not affect any refund rights you have under consumer protection law. ## Ownership We do not claim ownership of your letters. You may use, edit, and share them. In some countries, text written by AI may not be protected by copyright. We own RecomBuilder itself, including its design, code, text, and name. ## Limitation of liability To the fullest extent the law allows, DigitVibe and its owners, employees, and suppliers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any lost opportunities, data, or profits, arising from your use of RecomBuilder. To the same extent, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the draft the claim relates to, or zero if you used the free draft. These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for intentional or grossly negligent misconduct. ## Indemnity To the extent the law allows, you agree to cover any claims, losses, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) that DigitVibe faces because you misused RecomBuilder, submitted information you had no right to share, or broke these terms. ## Your consumer rights Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived or limited by contract under the law where you live, including laws such as Quebec's Consumer Protection Act and consumer laws in the European Union and the United Kingdom. ## Changes to the service and these terms We may change, suspend, or stop RecomBuilder, or any part of it. We may update these terms; the date below shows the latest version. Changes apply only to use after the date they are posted, and a purchase is governed by the terms in force when you paid. ## Governing law and disputes These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes will be decided by the courts of Alberta. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the place where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts there where that law allows. Please contact us first; most problems can be solved by email. ## General If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a term right away, we can still enforce it later.
